This practice was very peaceful to me this week after I got the mind chatter to stop. I chose my mom to focus on. She was not only my mom but also my best friend. It really helped me deal a little bit better with things that I have not thought about or dealt with for a long time. I will continue to use this practice since I did find it very peaceful.
The saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" means that if you have not done something yourself how are you going to show someone else how to do do it. As a health and wellness professional if you have not meditated, how can you expect to show your patient how to meditate or expect them to take it seriously. I think as a health and wellness professional you do have an obligation to live what you teach. You need to know what the patients fears could be. For me I can implement relaxation and meditation into my day to grow me psychologically and spiritually. I am still a work in progress on this but I do know that if I implement these things that it will get easier.

Tina,
ReplyDeleteI share the mom feelings. My mom was my mentor and hero. I used her for this exercise. My problem was trying to imagine the light coming from her to me. I couldn't get to that point so I just focused on bringing her into me. When she died I was holding her hand and was so close to her face I just wanted to inhale her last breath. Her soul had to pass right through me to get anywhere so I have always felt she was in me, leading me to right and keeping me from wrong. I will use this exercise again but without trying to see the lights. Hope you are doing well.
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI used my mother as well. I am still at a loss of words of how the feeling and sensation of her light and strength got into me. I just think that by us being their children we are more than able to have the same abilities that we see them having. We look at them more than mother's, but we have to remember we carry their blood through our veins, so that greatness, love, serenity of which they hold will and has always been apart of us. I will also continue to use this exercise. Let's ee what next week brings :).

Tina,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you enjoyed this weeks meditation. I too really enjoyed it and was able to connect with my grandmother who was said to have many intuitive talents and traditionally passed them on to only 1 granddaughter. there has been talk about it being me. It was just a calming and enjoyable experience to have that connection. I agree that if you are giving advise in regards to health and wellness, you must be walking the walk. Who would take you seriously if you didn't.
I hope you are well!
Sarah
I found this week's meditation difficult. How do you choose? I've lost so many dear family and friends, I had trouble picking one to focus on. I do agree that we cannot teach something to our clients that we ourselves do not know how to do.

This one was difficult for me. I thought of a dear friend of mine that passed a couple years back. Her daughters and I have been chatting about her and then one posted pictures of her last Christmas. It brought to the realization that I never accepted her death. I did not realize I had forgotten what the cancer did to her. Although, the meditation did assist in bring back a peace and many wise information that came from her. This also proved that the path I am taking, even if it only directly affects me, it in the long run will indirectly effect everyone around.
